Little J's Wake Up Call

So have I told you the story of my two cats? No? Well let me tell you.

My husband and I adopted two cats about 2 years ago, one boy and one girl. Right when we were going to get them fixed my husband lost his job. I thought I had time, but at 7 months heat struck and low and behold we got 3 kittens. So here I was with 5 extra mouths to feed on top of Big J's. Well 5 cats is no fun because no one could use the litter box and we were going crazy. No matter what we tried they had minds of their own. So needless to say we decided to only keep one.  So we have Marble who is a little over 1 year old.

Fast forward to a month ago and I was dropping the girls off at daycare. I step out of the car and all I hear is this pitiful kitten cry. Running under the cars is this very wet, 6 month kitten. So being the sap that I am, after dropping the kids in their classes I proceed to try and catch the kitten. Just my luck I catch her. Now what? I had to go to work so I brought her home all wrapped up in a blanket and handed her to my husband. We were hoping someone would miss her, but she is still her and now is our Scampi.

Now you are asking what does this have to do with Little J waking up? I am getting there.

In the mornings I open Little J's bedroom door while I get ready so she can wake up slowly and when I went in to see if she was awake this is what I saw.
Little J & Scampi - Before I took the picture Scampi was cuddling Little J.

Then Scampi decided to get comfy - which did not last long because I do not want this to be a habit.

Little J is saying, "I was not done cuddling, come back here!"
Big J was jealous and needed her picture taken - This is her angry face

I pulled a 50 ton Jet

So I work for United Way of Central Carolinas which is a nonprofit raising funds for health and human service agencies in a five county area. One of the companies that supports us is US Airways and one of the fundraisers they do is a jet pull. Teams from US Airways pay for a chance to pull the Jet and then the best time wins. They do this in Charlotte, Phoenix and Philly. It was so much fun even though our team came in last, but as our first year we did not do bad with 8.80 seconds.

Plus now I can say I pulled a Jet! How many people can say that???
Another team getting ready to pull

This is the plan we pulled, but no the Panthers do not fly in this one.

Eden Fantasy Review - Adult Content

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store

Being a blog about parenting and mainly about my two girls means I am very selective about what I review. However I have found that a happy mommy means a happy family. I found Eden Fantasy and through their ambassador's program was able to spice up my sex life. Ok I know you are saying TMI, but really I choose the game 101 Nights of Great Sex. The premise of the game is for you and your partner move around the game board and collect five Secret Sealed Seduction Cards. The winner then gets to choose one of their five cards to enjoy now or later. This game gives you and your significant other to stop and enjoy each other's company during the game through trivia, foreplay and other surprises.

A game not your thing? Well Eden Fantasys has something for everyone. From games to sex toys to books you are bound to find something you will enjoy. Now I have purchased items in the past and my biggest concern was if my neighbors, mailman and apartment office would be privy to my private package. With Eden Fantasys there is no need to worry, I actually did not know what it was until I opened it! Great products, fast shipping, great customer service and discretion.

If you are in need of a little spice in your life check out Eden Fantasys now.

Little J's New Toy

We were looking for a fun exercise center for Little J because everything we had promoted sitting or laying and we wanted her to have a chance to stand. Nana came to the rescue and purchased her one.

 She looks so tiny!

I think Big J was having more fun then Little J
This is about where Little J had enough fun.
Toy or what is over there?
How can I make an escape?
Please help me Mommy
Big J was a little too excited and freaked out Little J

Little J is starting to enjoy it more each day but Big J still gets a little loud and crazy when Little J is in there causing Little J to cry and want out. Oh the love of sisters!

Big J Meets Wood Chips

I get to daycare yesterday (Wednesday) and this what I was met with.

Sorry for the upside down picture.

THE STORY:
Apparantly a little boy in Big J's class told her to climb on his back for a piggy back ride. He was not much bigger than she was so she fell off and her face met the wood chips. She is fine and was fine after it happened. No blood or bleed as Big J calls it. Her teacher said she just stood up holder her cheek and said she fell down.

As you can tell from the pictures she is still smiling.

Squinkies Review - Big J Loves Them!

Now you are probably asking, “What are squinkies?”

Squishy, squooshy, squashy and totally adorable, Squinkies is the eagerly awaited new mini doll and pet, accessory and playset line destined to be the hottest new must-have kids’ collectible toy sensation. Squinkies friend and pet dolls come encased in unique toy plastic bubbles.

Launched in July 2010 by Blip Toys, the initial release includes a collection of 96 micro dolls (series 1 – 6) packaged sixteen each in a selection of popularly themed blister card Squinkies Suprize Inside Bubble Packs. The collection’s initial three fun themes are Fantasy, Princess, and Birthday with many other additional themes and dolls to come!

With new collectible Squinkies dolls to be released on a regular basis, the line will feature hundreds of figures to collect, trade and share. As a result kids will enjoy the ability to enjoy endless hours of imaginative game play as they create their very own special Squinkies world.

They are just so adorable!

We recieved a pack of Squinkies for review and Big J was so excited. The funny part was that we had been purchasing something similiar in the quarter machines. However, Squinkies are much much better quality and I do not have to worry about Big J ruining them any time soon.  I have actually started looking for more in anticipation of Christmas coming soon.

In addition to the Suprize Inside Bubble Packs, the Squinkies line includes a variety of fun accessories and play coin dispenser playsets at a variety of price points that will accommodate any budget.  There’s always a surprise with Squinkies dispenser playsets as each playset is creatively themed with meticulous detail and come with plastic toy bubbles with Squinkies inside plus accessories to round out play!

As part of the dispenser play, toy coins are inserted into the playset slot allowing kids to twist the dial and dispense a Squinkie surprise!  Each playset dispenser is large enough to hold several Squinkies inside their plastic toy bubbles.  Squinkies figures, playsets and accessories are each sold separately.

There are even little playsets - great for those of us whos child likes to bring their toys everywhere they go!
You can even wear your Squinkies!

Nancy Drew PC Games - Review

According to the Entertainment Software Association, 40% of all game player are women. In fact, women over the age of 18 represent a significant greater portion of the game-playing population (34%) than boys age 17 or younger (18%)

I am not sure why this surprised me. Living in a house with girls and having a 13 year old bonus daughter and loving video games myself I know that games for women are on the rise.

I am sure most of you have heard of Nancy Drew, whether you have read the books, your children have or even if you have played a game. I was given the change to review two Nancy Drew PC games, Trail of the Twister and Secrets Can Kill. We love Nancy Drew in our house, not only have I and my bonus daughter read almost the whole series we already owned 5 games. In honor of Nancy's 80th anniversary (she is shared among generations), Her Interactive reintroduced their first Nancy Drew game, Secrets Can Kill.  They have completely redesigned characters, updated graphics, new puzzles and a new ending.  The game is now also available for the Mac Platform for the first time.

Secrets Can Kill - Jake Rogers was murdered and his killer is on the loose. A secret died with him that night, and you, as Nancy Drew, must read between the lines to expose the culprit.
I love this game and have already beat the game on one level and look forward to making it harder the next time around. We have played Nancy Drew games in the past and Her Interactive did not disappoint. The graphics are great and it still holds the charm of the other games I have played. There is a journal to help you keep track of the information you collected so there is no need to write a lot of information down. (Although there are a few puzzles you need to take some notes for.) Even Big J enjoyed watching me play and since there is nothing graphic or inappropriate I was able to let her.

Trail of the Twister - $100,000,000 is at stake in this competition to discover the formula to predict tornado touchdowns. But when the equipment starts failing and crew members are injured, you as Nancy Drew, must join the team to keep them in the competition. Is it just bad luck that's plaguing the storm chasers or is someone sabotaging their chances of winning?
I just started playing this game but can already tell I am going to love it. I will keep you posted on how well I do!

*Her Interactive is the pioneer in the adventure and mystery gaming categories with 23 awards to its name. The company and games continue to support the fastest growing gaming demographic, females.*  Games are rated E for everyone with mild violance. Available where games are sold.

I am proud to be a female gamer and even more so to pass the love down to Big J and someday Little J too. In moderation of course.

I was provided with a copy of Secrets Can Kill and Trail of the Twister for review purposes. All opinions are 100% mine and 100% honest.
